Ian is first and foremost an amazing vocalist and always receives compliments about his vocal ability. He started out at the age of 5, singing from behind the curtains of his living room to kids in the street at the request of his sister Annette. Football interrupted this brief encounter with fame and Ian went on to captain his county for the schools team and then earned a place with the England Schoolboy's Football squad at Bisham Abbey spending a week being coached and trained by the late great Malcolm Allison (Manchester City). After some years playing semi-pro football it wasn't until he was in his 30's that he formed a rock gospel band after suddenly being inspired to write hundreds of songs and needing an outlet for them. Ian performed some of the songs with his band AFTER THE FALL, which included prisons, clubs, charity events and the major festival called Cross Rhythms ( Ian wrote the theme tune to Cross Rhythms in 1994 and the band played it to 3000 people on the final day ). The Band also had an E.P. "TOUCHING GLORY" distributed by KINGSWAY RECORDS that year. Another full Album "GLOBAL WARNING" followed in 1996 and was distributed all around the world. The band consisted of Ian (Lead Vocals & Songwriter), Mike Cartwright (Drums), Nigel Hale (Bass), Russell Smith (Lead/Rhythm Guitar) and Richie Jenkins (Keyboards). After 11 years their last gig was at Dudley Castle with the likes of David & Carrie Grant and Daniel & Natasha Beddingfield (who were 16 & 15 at the time!). The event was featured on SKY TV and the band were interviewed live. Redundancy caused the end of the band and Ian had to go out into the wide world and earn a living. Singing seemed the obvious path to take. Ian then started singing in pubs and clubs and for 5 years learnt how to work an audience and find the right blend of songs to make an impact. A chance booking supporting an Abba Tribute Band pointed him in the right direction for Tribute work and Ian was on his way..... " Tonight Matthew I am going to be Neil Diamond and Tom Jones!!! ".

Ian has also formed a duo with one of the UK's best guitarists Danny Villarreal - "DANIAN" was born out of an idea to form a Moody Blues Tribute Band. When that collapsed, Ian and Danny were drawn together through their love of music.

Here are some of the Videos of Ian singing as himself at Charity Events and tracks from his last two albums and a very rough video from an Open Mic night at a pub in Minworth near Birmingham. The Open Mic night is run by Ian's brother-in-law Pat Carney and his wife (Ian's other sister) Sue. Singing "Nights In White Satin" and Scott Walker's "Joanna" you can see why Ian and Danny are rated so highly. These videos are from the very beginning of DANIAN when they were just 'jamming' . They will be 'gigging' professionally in 2011 after intensive rehearsals.
